Car parking fines are a nightmare, and most of us will get at least one in our many years of driving. There are many different types of parking fines, some enforced by the local council and others by private companies. If you receive a fine the first thing to do is check out the company that issued it as unfortunately there are bogus companies out there that prey on people worrying and just paying it in case the fine increases. There are some fantastic advice website’s out there that will help you establish if the company and the parking fine itself is legitimate.
You can not only get parking fines for parking illegally on a road or not having a valid ticket, but also for things like parking over the white lines in to another bay. This was something that caught me out recently at a shopping centre where there was very little parking. My front wheel was slightly over the white line due to the way the car next to me had parked and I was fined. I did contest it though and was able to get it over turned. If you generally have a good reason then it is worth asking if they would waiver the fine.
